RB 205/E05 - Device Code Must Be Alphanumeric or Spaces

The Device Code is a two-character alphanumeric field designed for future use. Other values to indicate which device type generated batch transactions will be provided in the future. The field to ASCII zeros for device types F, H, J, and G until field is used.

Possible Causes

Solution

Temporary communication problem.

Re-transmit the batch.

Device code is set incorrectly in the download file.
  1. Correct the device code in the download file.
  2. Perform a partial reprogramming to update the terminal.
  3. Re-transmit the batch.

Device code that is programmed in the terminal programming may not be correct.

Correct the device code in the terminal and re-transmit.
