RB 307/F07 - Illegal characters or spaces in merchant city or state, or invalid merchant state

Merchant City is a 13-character, alphanumeric field assigned by the member to identify the merchant city location. The system validates the data type of city field.

Merchant State is a two-character, alphanumeric field assigned by the member to identify the merchant state location.

Possible Cause

Solution

The merchant city/state in the download file is incorrect.

Correct the merchant city/state and retain the batch.
Perform a partial download and re-transmit the batch.

The terminal data for this field is corrupt.

Verify the merchant city/state in the terminal.

If valid, retain the batch and re-transmit.
If invalid, correct the merchant city/stat in the terminal and re-transmit.
