Typically occurs with a Zon Jr XL using older applications with a Cash Advance key (does not include VXL0C32, VXPCD01 or VT1CD01). Instead of pressing the Cash Advance [ 2 ] key, the teller accidentally swipes the card or presses the purchase [ 1 ] or credit [ 4 ] key, causing invalid transactions to be accumulated in the batch.
Note: This RB is especially prevalent with the VXL0C32 software.
Possible Cause |
Solution |
Incorrect transaction code. |
In most cases, the software is CVV or non-PS2K and the batch needs to be deleted. You then need to correctly offline the transactions back in and re-transmit the batch. Note: Purchase and Credit transactions are invalid on cash advance software. Merchant swiped card without pressing [ 2 ] for cash advance. Merchant pressed [ 1 ] for purchase, then swiped or keyed card number. Merchant pressed [ 4 ] for credit, then swiped or keyed card number. |
The Transaction Code is a one-character alphanumeric field that is used to identify the type of transaction on the terminal. Sierra validates the Transaction Code and matches the following entities in the table:
