Merchant Summary Tab: Demographics

On the Merchant Summary tab, select the Demographics option button to display the merchant's demographic information, such as address, contact details, and basic processing data.

You will notice that three of the fields on this tab may provide links, as follows:

• DDA

  Depending on your system setup and user permissions, you can select the link in the DDA field on the Merchant Summary tab to open the Merchant DDA Set Up Information screen.

  This screen displays details about the merchant's Demand Deposit Account (DDA) accounts. It shows the account numbers for each account, as well as information on the last update made to the DDA account.

  The DDA is a checking account used for transferring funds to and from a merchant for credit card processing deposits and fees.

  Note: You must be assigned user permissions to access the Merchant DDA Set Up Information screen. This screen is only available for merchants who are setup in the Portfolio Pricing Manager (PPM) application.

  

• ACH Tran Destination

  Depending on your system setup and user permission, you can select the link in the ACH Tran Destination field on the Merchant Summary tab to open the ACH Tran Destination screen.

  This screen displays details about where specific ACH transaction types are deposited. For example, a Chargeback deposit may be deposited in the merchant, association, or group DDA account.

  

• Optblue Flag

  If this field is set to Y, it indicates that the merchant is registered in the American Express OptBlue program. The Y also acts as a link, which when clicked opens the AMEX Optblue Merchant Registration Information page, which lists these fields:

  • Seller ID

    This number identifies a single merchant. A merchant may operate under multiple MCCs so they may be assigned multiple Industry SE numbers under their Seller ID.

    • For full service and back end only merchants, the Seller ID is a combination of the four-digit bank number and the back-end merchant ID, and the field is populated automatically.
    • For front end only merchants, you need to enter the Seller ID as defined by the Back End Processor.
  • Industry SE

    An identification number required for authorization, settlement, and reporting. A single Participant CAP number is assigned 10 unique Industry SE numbers. Every Industry SE number correlates with a Merchant Category Code (MCC) to represent the business type. Merchants with the same MCC are assigned to the same Industry SE number.

    • For full service and back end only merchants, the Industry SE is populated automatically based on the Participant CAP number.
    • For front end only merchants, you need to enter the Industry SE as defined by the Back End Processor.

  • Seller DBA

    The merchant's DBA (Doing Business As) name.

  • Seller Address

    The physical address of the merchant location. This cannot be a PO Box number.

  • Seller Phone

    The merchant phone number.

  • Seller Email

    The merchant’s business email address. This field is required for MCC 5969. Use standard email format (for example, email@server.com).

  • Seller Postal

    The ZIP code associated with the merchant’s physical address. This postal code must be within the 50 US states and Washington DC.

This tab also enables you to determine if there are reserved funds for the current merchant. If the merchant is configured for Reserve Funding, the Reserves field displays a Y if there are reserved funds, or an N if there are no reserved funds.
