ECI

For MasterCard, the Electronic Commerce Security Level Indicator consists of three subfields that provide information about the Universal Cardholder Authentication Field (UCAF) security protocol for internet transactions.

Entry Mode

The POS (Point of Sale) mode that the transaction was entered.

ESID Description

Electronic Source ID; a coding used to identify what type of transactions are included within a particular file.

Extended Country Code

This is the Primary Account Number (PAN) Extended Country Code, and identifies the country where the card issuer is located. If the account number begins with 59, then this field must include the issuer’s country code. The country code is contained in the track data for the card type. The 59 standard account numbers represent a numbering system used for routing, account, and issuer identification.
