Discount Fee Rules

Fee items in the Discount category are basic fees charged by acquirers for card processing services, often as a percentage of the merchant’s card sales. They are compared against a minimum discount amount to determine the merchant’s discount. Discount fees are based on sales activity and card type. Additional fields in this fee category allow the client to specify whether to apply sales only, sales minus credits, or sales plus credits. The Discount category has a Category Type of 12.

Example: A Discount fee may be set up on a merchant profile in the Discount category. This discount fee applies a discount of 2.65% for the merchant for certain Visa transactions on an ongoing basis.
