The Exceptions fee category contains fee items that are out of the normal processing path. Some examples may include fees for chargebacks, adjustments, and retrievals. The Exceptions category has a Category Type of 5.
Example: A Chargeback fee may be set up as an Exception fee item. The merchant may be charged $7.50 per chargeback. The fee may be set up to pull the payment from a different DDA account than the primary account on the merchant’s profile.
