VAR Change History Report
This is an audit report that enables clients to see the audit trail of changes to info on the VNO screen. This report will show by V number only the history of changes that have been made to the terminal within the last 30 days, or the very last maintenance performed if it has been longer than 30 days.
The report provides information in these columns:
V#
A unique identification number applied to terminals.
BIN
A six-digit number that identifies a client bank. A BIN is assigned by TSYS Acquiring Solutions and is the highest level of the front-end hierarchy. The front-end hierarchy is used by TSYS Acquiring Solutions to route an authorization or batch to the correct acquirer. BINS contain agents, the second level of the front-end hierarchy.
POS Merchant ID
The unique, 12-digit number that identifies the merchant to the client or agent bank.
Merchant Name
The merchant name associated with the terminal.
Merchant's Terminal Address, City, State, Zip
Close Date/Time
Product ID
The product ID for the Vital Service Number if terminal level, or the merchant ID if merchant level.
Support EMV Contact
Yes or No indicates whether or not the setup supports chip-based contact payment cards and terminals.
Visa Contact Floor Limit
The dollar amount below which the EMV Visa transaction can be processed offline if the chip allows.
MasterCard Contact Floor Limit
The dollar amount below which the EMV MasterCard transaction can be processed offline if the chip allows.
American Express Contact Floor Limit
The dollar amount below which the EMV American Express transaction can be processed offline if the chip allows.
Discover Contact Floor Limit
The dollar amount below which the EMV Discover transaction can be processed offline if the chip allows.
Visa Contact Max %
The maximum percentage of random EMV VISA transactions that can go offline.
MasterCard Contact Max %
The maximum percentage of random EMV MasterCard transactions that can go offline.
American Express Contact Max %
The maximum percentage of random EMV American Express transactions that can go offline.
Discover Contact Max %
The maximum percentage of random EMV Discover transactions that can go offline.
Visa Contact Minimum %
The minimum percentage of random EMV VISA transactions that can go offline.
MasterCard Contact Minimum %
The minimum number of random EMV MasterCard transactions that can go offline.
American Express Contact Minimum %
The minimum percentage of random EMV American Express transactions that can go offline.
Discover Contact Minimum %
The minimum percentage of random EMV Discover transactions that can go offline.
Support EMV Contactless
Yes or No to indicates whether or not the setup supports chip-based contactless payment cards and terminals.
Contactless Transaction Limit
The transaction limit dollar amount for a contactless transaction.
Contactless CVM Limit
The CVM limit dollar amount for a contactless transaction. If the EMV contactless transaction is below this amount, the CVM can be ignored if the chip allows.
Contactless Floor Limit
The contactless floor limit dollar amount. If the EMV contactless transaction is below this amount, it can be processed offline if the chip allows.
EMV Device
The devices that the VAR has
EMV certified.
EMV is a standard that Europay, Mastercard International, and Visa International created. The standard is now managed by EMVCo, a consortium with control split equally among Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, China UnionPay, and Discover. This consortium promotes the use of smart cards. A smart card is a payment card with an embedded microprocessor, or chip. Such cards are commonly known as chip cards. Because the chip can hold much more information than a magnetic stripe, it supports multiple methods of authentication. This makes transaction processes more secure for both the merchant and the consumer, resulting in fewer fraudulent transactions due to compromised data.
Security features include:
- Card verification: This protects against counterfeit cards by verifying the card. The verification process cannot use previously captured data; each chip card transaction creates unique transaction data with two-factor authorization using the chip and the card verification value (CVV).
- Cardholder verification: This verifies that the customer is an authorized cardholder. The issuer prioritizes cardholder verification methods (CVMs) based on the associated risk of the transaction. EMV supports four CVMs:
- Offline PIN (internal/external PIN pad required)
- Online PIN (internal/external PIN pad required)
- Signature
- No CVM
- Transaction authorization:
- Online: EMV transactions use the same process as magnetic stripe transactions by communicating with the network. You can view the online authorization or decline in e-Connections.
- Offline: The chip on the card and terminal communicate. The offline transaction does not require communication with the network. The chip uses issuer-defined risk parameters to approve or decline the transaction. You can't view the offline authorization or decline in the system until after the settlement.
Point of Sale devices are EMV enabled when both their hardware and software can accept and process contact (inserted) or contactless (tap) chip card transactions.
