Field notes: A

ABA T/R Number: The merchants American Bankers Association routing number that directs electronic ACH deposits to the proper bank institution for Discover debit.

Accept ACH as a Tran: Select this check box to set up the merchant for Consumer ACH.

The Reclear Flag and SEC Codes check boxes then become available, and the SEC Codes check box for PPD is selected by default, as this is mandatory for Consumer ACH.

Accept AMEX? : Indicates whether that terminal will be configured to accept American Express.

Accept ATM?: If the selected HWSW can support an ATM range, then selecting this option will automatically generate the ATM card range for clients with configuration option 28 enabled. For all other clients, the option will be disabled.

Accept Discover?: Indicates whether that terminal will be configured to accept Discover.

Accept PayPal?: Indicates whether the client accepts the PayPal card.

Accept Tips: Enables the terminal to process tips.

Access Code: The prefix required for the terminal to dial out (9-, *71, and 8891-5-, for example).

Account 1: Client-defined account numbers.

Account 2: Client-defined account numbers.

Account Number: The cardholder account number associated with a chargeback. On the Merchant Product page or Card Type Report, the Amex, Discover, Diners, or JCB account number. On the Discover Setup page, the Discover number that is assigned to a merchant account.

Account Number Range Order: A system-defined number that identifies the order in which the payment service will be selected for authorization and reporting.

Account Range - High: The upper boundary of the account range. For example, a merchant receives a MasterCard with a number of 594465453255, and the high range for MasterCard is 589999999999. In this case, the card is rejected since it is outside of the specified card range.

Account Range - Low: The lower boundary of the account range. For example, a merchant receives a MasterCard with a number of 534465453255, and the low range for MasterCard is 549999999999. In this case, the card is rejected since it is outside of the specified card range.

Account Type: The type of account that you want to include in the report.

Accounting Entity: Allows you to select an accounting entity to search on.

Accumulator Label: A four-character label that specifies the type of accumulator used by the card type. Terminals carry memory buffers known as accumulators. The accumulator buffer stores all of the transaction information (transaction amount, card number, and reference number, for example) for a specific card type. The values available in this field vary according to your organization's business rules.

ACH: Automated Clearing House. This option identifies merchant transactions that the accounting system qualified for the standard NACHA (National Automated Clearing House Association) format on an ACH File. On the Merchant Account page, this indicates that daily deposits are posted using ACH.

ACH 3rd Party: The ACH third party vendor for electronic check conversions. Bankserv, Echo, or Efunds, for example.

ACH as a Tran: When selecting report criteria, select this check box to include merchants accepting ACH as a Tran.

ACH Attribute (Merchant Card Plans page): From the drop-down list, select the ACH Attribute for the card plan. This field defaults from the association or bank level. Entry in this field is optional. The options available are:

ACH Process Credits Flag: When this check box is selected, it indicates that the ACH process is going to allow credits to be posted for this merchant.

ACH Type: The manner in which ACH is paid.

Activation Date (AMEX Merchant Registration page): A view-only field indicating the date that the merchant was activated.

Note: A merchant is considered activated once they have submitted their first net deposit greater than or equal to $5.00 for any type of card volume.

Addendum Flag: Indicates that the merchant should receive an addendum record on their ACH funding/settlement files.

Additional AMEX Prompts: Enables AMEX extended prompts for Equinox terminals using hotel software.

Additional Approver: The name of an additional representative with approval authority.

Address: The merchant's mailing address. This information appears on receipts. Also can be the Sim card contact's address.

Address 1-4: The Group or Associations address.  This information also appears on the Association or Group Summary. On the Merchant Sales Rep Details page, the address of the sales representative.

Adjust: Indicates that adjustment transactions require a PIN and allows the terminal to adjust the amount of the sale after approval.

Adjust By Server/Clerk: Enables the terminal to request the entry of a Server ID number whenever the Adjust key is pressed.

Adjust Key: The terminal requires a password when you select this option for Equinox.

Adjustment Allowed: Allows an Equinox user to adjust the amount of an authorized sale using their adjust key.

Adjustments (transaction destination): The transaction destination for adjustments.

Adjustments (confirmation letters): Indicates that adjustments will be printed on the confirmation letter.

Advance Payment: Indicates whether an advance payment is to be applied to first payment, or to both a first payment and last payment.

Advance Payment Amount: The amount (in dollars) of advance payment provided by merchant.

Agent: A six-digit number used by client banks to identify a smaller bank (or ISO) that processes credit card transactions through the client bank. Agents are the second level of the front-end hierarchy. They contain Chains and roll up into BINs. If a merchant does not process transactions using the Agent level of the front-end hierarchy, this value may be 000000.

Agent 1 Description: Description field 1 for the PCI Agent that the Merchant uses.

Agent 2 Description: Description field 2 for the PCI Agent that the Merchant uses.

Agent 1 Name: Name field 1 for the PCI agent that the merchant uses.

Agent 2 Name: Name field 2 for the PCI Agent that the Merchant uses.

Agent Indicator: When selected, the check box indicates that the merchant uses a PCI Agent.

Agent Name: The full name of the merchant's agent.

All: A check box that selects all items in a list. When you select this check box, your subsequent action is applied to all the selected items.

All Sales: Sorts merchant BET data by sales.

All Fees: Sorts merchant BET data by fees.

All Record Format: Describes the type of business the merchant is using.  For example, a format code of 10 hotels and lodging charges (retail), 11 corresponds to hotels and lodging (Amex Lodging), and 20 corresponds to Amex CPC II hotels and lodging (Amex Lodging).

American Express Contact Floor Limit (Terminal VAR Details page): The dollar amount below which the EMV American Express transaction can be processed offline if the chip allows.

American Express Contact Max % (Terminal VAR Details page): The maximum percentage of random EMV American Express transactions that can go offline.

American Express Contact Min % (Terminal VAR Details page): The minimum percentage of random EMV American Express transactions that can go offline.

AMEX Annual Volume: The merchant's anticipated AMEX annual charge volume. This value must be greater than zero.

AMEX Annual Volume (check box): When selected, this check box indicates that the sales channel has verified the merchant’s annual American Express sales volume. The annual American Express sales volume cannot exceed one million USD to participate in the American Express OptBlue program.

AMEX Account Number: The 15-digit American Express account number.

Amex BIN: The American Express Bank Identification Number.

AMEX CAP Number: An American Express identification number assigned to each PSE per transmit bank to distinguish who gets paid. A PSE client/bank will have one CAP number for each transmit bank. This field is automatically populated based on the Bank number.

AMEX Card Present: Indicates that an American Express card plan has been added to the merchant account.

Amex DBA: The American Express DBA (Doing Business As) name.

Amex DBA Name:  The merchant's name, as registered with American Express.

Amex Description: The description of the business, indicated by a number assigned to the merchant by American Express. Notify your merchant client service representative before changing this field.

AMEX Format Code: Indicates the merchants industry.

Amex MCC: The merchant's four-digit Merchant Category Code (MCC) for American Express; this field only appears on the Merchant Parameters page if the Card Brand MCC Participation indicator is selected for the merchant.

AMEX Number: AMEX SE account number at AMEX.

Amex OptBlue: Select this check box if you want to register the merchant in the American Express OptBlue program. As part of the American Express OptBlue® program, TSYS Acquiring Solutions’ participating clients can enter into contracts with eligible merchants in the United States, with responsibility for determining pricing, risk/liability, and full servicing of American Express® card processing.

Amex PC ID: The number assigned to the merchant by American Express that identifies the merchant as a particular business type. TSYS Acquiring Solutions is assigned its own standard PCID numbers by American Express.

AMEX SE: A 10-digit number indicating that a Merchant ID is configured to accept American Express. If this field is blank, related terminals are not configured to accept AMEX transactions. An error message displays if another request exists with a different service number, the same request ID number, and a different AMEX SE number.

AMEX SE ID: A 10-digit number indicating that a Merchant ID is configured to accept American Express.

AMEX SE (Live Date): The AMEX SE activation date.

AMEX Signed Date: The date the merchant signed up for American Express.

AMEX Split Dial: Enables AMEX split dial.

Amount: The amount that a merchant is charged. A decimal point is implied to the left of the last two digits in this field.

Amount Adjustment: When selected, this check box enables the merchant to change the amount of a transaction already captured in the terminal.

Amount Adjustment Password: When selected, this check box requires a password to be entered when a user performs an amount adjustment. This check box becomes available if the Amount Adjustment check box in the Flags and Adjustments panel on the Terminal Details page is selected.

Amount Adjustment Password: Establishes a password that must be provided when a user performs an amount adjustment. This field is unavailable until you select the Amount Adjustment option.

Annual Number: The total number of statements to be printed each year.

Amount of Credits in a Batch: The maximum dollar amount of credits allowed in a batch. This must be a valid amount between 0 and 999999999.99.

Annual Volume: The total volume (in dollars) of business that a merchant does on an annual basis.

Annual Sales Volume: The total sales volume (in dollars) that a merchant averages annually.

Annual AMEX Sales Volume: The total volume of American Express sales transactions (in dollars) that a merchant averages annually.

AP Indicator: Aggregated Payee Indicator. This field will determine if the merchants that fall within an Association or Group should all be rolled up into one 1099-K form and reported/distributed to the Association or Group entity. The current IRS rules state that when an Aggregated Payee exists "If a person receives payments from a PSE on behalf of one or more participating payees and distributes such payments to one or more participating payees, then the person is treated as a PSE."

Application ID (Terminal VAR Details page): The 4-digit application version number.

Approval Code: A code indicating the approval or disapproval status of a credit application.

Assign Name For Server/Clerk: Configures the terminal to assign names to server and clerk IDs.

Assign Private Label: Assigns the selected private label to the card type selected in the Card Type field.

Assistant Manager: The merchant assistant manager's name.

Assoc: See Association.

Association: A six-digit number that identifies the association connected to the merchant. Associations are used to provide additional structure and detail for back-end reporting.

Association DDA: The association's Demand Deposit Account.

Association DDA #2-4: The association's ancillary Demand Deposit Accounts.

Association ID: See Association Number.

Association Name: The name of the merchant's association.

Association Number: The association's six digit identification number.

Association Targets: A list of associations that receive the bank statement message.

ATM Cancel/Return: The option selected from the drop-down list indicates whether ATM cancel or return functionality on the terminal is password protected.

ATM Credit: Indicates that ATM credit functionality on the terminal is password protected.

ATM Purchase: Indicates that ATM purchase functionality on the terminal is password protected.

ATM Return: Indicates that ATM return functionality on the terminal is password protected.

Attach Surcharge: When this check box is selected, a surcharge is attached to Debit and EBT transactions in the amount set in the Surcharge Amount field in the Surcharge Settings panel of the Terminal Details page.

Attachment Code

Attention: The name of the receiving person. Currently, this is a required field for major shipping companies.

Attn: See Attention.

Attribute: Identifies how the merchants checking account statement will appear. Acceptable values for this field include: Separate, Combine, By deposit, or No ACH.

Audible Modem: Enables the merchant to monitor communication with the host through audible modem tones.

Augment Sharing Groups: When this check box is selected for a terminal, it enables augmentation of sharing groups for Personal Identification Number (PIN) debit transactions. This enables the processing systems to use sharing groups from the merchant profile instead of the sharing groups presented with the actual transaction.

Auth Comm Type: The option selected from the drop-down list indicates whether the terminal is using a dial-up (Dial) or IP connection (GPRS) to receive an authorization.

Auth Floor Limit: The transaction amount below which the terminal generates its own approval codes.

Auth Only Manager: Indicates that this function is password protected.

Auth Only Operator: Indicates that this function is password protected.

Auth Only Receipt: Determines if transactions performed as authorization only (key 5) will print. Transactions performed as authorization only on the 5 key will not capture in the terminal's memory.

Authorization: A billing element table category. Income generated and expense incurred through authorizations are calculated using billing items in authorizations billing element tables (BETs).

Authorization/EDC Indicator: Enables dial analysis defaulting for Authorization phone numbers and/or EDC phone numbers.

Authorization Only: When selected, this check box disables the terminal from capturing transactions in its memory. This information overrides the values entered in the Data Capture Required field on the Card Range - Setup page. This option is enabled by default if the terminal is configured to authorize transactions but not capture this information.

Authorization Only Transaction: Enables the terminal to require a password.

Authorization Vendor: The front end vendor that authorized the transaction.

Authorize Margin Percentage: Enables the terminal to request an additional amount to cover tips. The additional amount of the request corresponds to the two-digit percentage that you enter into this field.

Authorized Signer First Name: Various required fields for the authorized signer's information; Authorized Signer Title, Authorized Signer First Name, etc.

Authorized Signer Last Name: The authorized signer's last name.

Authorized Signer Title: From the drop-down list, select the seller’s authorized signer title.

Auto Answer: Enables the terminal to answer incoming calls automatically.

Auto Answer Indicator: When selected, this check box indicates that the terminal answers incoming calls automatically.

Auto Answer Number of Rings: If the Auto Answer Indicator check box in the Dial Settings panel on the Terminal Details page is selected, the entry in this field indicates the number of rings before the terminal answers incoming calls automatically.

Auto Close: When selected, this check box enables the terminal to transmit a batch automatically at a pre-set time.

Auto Close Attempts: The number of times that the terminal will attempt to auto close.

Auto Close Open Tab: When selected, this check box enables the terminal to auto close a batch with open tabs.

Auto Close Reports: The option selected from the drop-down list indicates the type of reports that will print after a successful auto close. The available options are:

Auto Close Time 1: The time (0000-2359) that the terminal will auto-close within a 24 hour period.

Auto Close Time 2: The time (0000-2359) that the terminal will auto-close a second batch within a 24 hour period.

Auto Close Time 3: The time (0000-2359) that the terminal will auto-close a third batch within a 24 hour period.

Auto Close Time 4: The time (0000-2359) that the terminal will auto-close a fourth batch within a 24 hour period.

Auto Close Time 5: The time (0000-2359) that the terminal will auto-close a fifth batch within a 24 hour period.

Auto Close Time 6: The time (0000-2359) that the terminal will auto-close a sixth batch within a 24 hour period.

Auto Close Unadjusted Tip: Enables the terminal to close a batch in which some transactions have not had a tip adjustment.

Auto Download: Indicates whether (Y) or not (N) the terminal is enabled to auto download at predetermined intervals.

Auto Suspend: Indicates that automatic suspension is enabled. When the capture record is marked to suspend status, the Port sends the auth info and receipt data to the ECR/ISP. After the receipt prints the ESR/ISP instructs the port to set to capture.

Auto Tip Percentage: The percentage the terminal will use to calculate automatically the tip amount at the point of sale.

Available Card Ranges: The available payment services for a terminal. This list can contain as many as 26 different payment service types, depending on the terminal's hardware and software configuration.

Available Hosts: A list of the hosts that can be configured for a terminal.

AVS Flag: When selected, this check box activates the Address Verification System flag, which enables terminal prompts for manually typed Visa card numbers only. If a manually entered Visa card number and a "Card Present" configuration setting is selected, the terminal will prompt for the ZIP code on the account. For non-Visa cards, the terminal will not prompt for a ZIP code. If a "Card Not Present" configuration is selected on a non-Visa card, the terminal reverts to a mail/phone order transaction.

Average Sale: The merchant's average transaction amount. Input a value up to 999. If value is over 999, input 999.

Average Ticket: The merchant's average transaction amount. Value range is from five to nine characters.
