Enter notes

Notes are freeform text comments that you can classify with one of several predefined note types, and attach to the records of front-end and back-end entities. To perform the actions below, you must have an entity in context.

Note: If you are creating or modifying a note for a request and you select Exception in the Type field, the request's age clock will be paused. The clock will resume after the exception is resolved.

You can create notes for the following entities:

Navigation

To view, add, or modify notes:

  1. Perform a merchant accounting search or a front-end search, depending on the entity that you want to view or edit.
  2. Click Notes.

View notes

  1. Click the radio button in the Select column of the Notes table to select the note that you want to view.
  2. Click View.

Add a note

  1. Click Add.
  2. Enter values for required fields and optional fields, as needed.
  3. Click Save.

Modify / Append a note

Note: You cannot change the original text when you modify a note. Any text you enter will be appended to the original note with its own date and time.  If a note has been marked as resolved, then the entire note is read-only and cannot be edited.

  1. Select the Notes link from the navigation bar. A summary list of notes will appear.
  2. Click the radio button in the Select column of the Notes table to select the note that you want to view.
  3. Click View.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. You will have the option of directly editing the Drop Date field, the Resolution Date field and the Resolution Date checkbox. You can also enter additional information in the Add to Note field. The additional information will be appended to the original note.
  6. Click Save.
