About bank maintenance

Banks are the top level component of the back-end hierarchy, containing groups, associations, and merchants in that hierarchical order. Banks are initially configured using the TSYS Acquiring Solutions Merchant Accounting System (MAS). Express allows you to modify and delete bank details, including the following:

• Name and address
• Card type acceptance
• Account number structure
• System options
• Merchant network profiles
• New account defaults
• Automated Clearing House (ACH)
• Management reporting hierarchy
• Exception tables
• Billing element tables
• Variable rate tables
• Discount rate tables
• Statement messages

Values that you set at the bank level can be inherited by affiliated hierarchical entities (groups, associations, and merchants). These inherited values appear in Express as default values, option sets, and limits on some of the options that you can configure for the affiliated entities. In some cases, you can override inherited values, such as inherited bank-level billing element tables.
