RB 412/A12/B12/G12/H12 - Authorization Source Code is One Alphanumeric Field

This field indicates the source code upon authorizations of all online authorizations. This field is also generated by the terminal when authorization is acquired through offline or voice referral.

Possible Cause

Solution

The Authorization Source Code is incorrect.

Delete/void the transaction that invoked an RB.
Offline the corrected transaction and re-transmit.

Note: If the delete/void feature is not available, delete the batch, offline corrected transactions, and re-transmit.

Sierra validates the data element type of this field and that Authorization Source Code corresponds with the following codes in the table:

Code	Definition
<Space>	No information is available
1	Base I system.
2	Reserved.
3	Terminal generated authorization.
4	Referral with manually entered authorization code. Authorization request was made while the device was online, but human intervention was required.
5	Offline authorization. Transaction was captured independently of electronic authorization.
