Edit a Custom Hierarchy

To edit a custom hierarchy:

1. From the Reports menu, click Custom Hierarchy.

   

   The Custom Hierarchy Administration page opens.

   

2. Click Edit a Custom Hierarchy.

   The Select Custom Hierarchy page opens, listing the names of existing custom hierarchies.

   

3. Click the name of the custom hierarchy you want to edit.

   The Edit Custom Hierarchy page opens.

   

   At this page, you can perform one of these functions:

   Remove merchants from the custom hierarchy

   To remove any merchants currently listed in the custom hierarchy, clear the check box for each merchant you want to remove, and then click Update Custom Hierarchy.

   Tip: Click Toggle Checkboxes to clear or select the check boxes for all the merchants listed.

   Add merchants to the custom hierarchy

   1. In the Edit Custom Hierarchy panel, enter the appropriate criteria for the merchants you want to add:
      • Within Agent

        The six-digit agent number (or agent numbers, separated by commas) associated with the merchants you want to add to the custom hierarchy.

      • Within Chain

        The chain number (or chain numbers, separated by commas) associated with the merchants you want to add to the custom hierarchy.

      • Merchant ID beginning with

        Enter the full merchant ID number for the merchant you want to add to the custom hierarchy, or enter a partial merchant ID to yield all merchants whose IDs begin with that number.

      • Merchant DBA Name beginning with

        Enter the full merchant doing-business-as (DBA) name for the merchant you want to add to the custom hierarchy, or enter a partial merchant DBA name to yield all merchants whose DBA names begin with those letters.

        You can also enter a number of full merchant DBA names, separated by commas, to yield all those merchants.

      • Located in this State

        From the drop-down list, select the state for the merchants you want included in the hierarchy.

      • Having Zip Code

        The ZIP code for the merchants you want to include in the custom hierarchy.

   2. Click Add to Custom Hierarchy.

      Note: If your criteria yield more than 100 merchants, this message box opens:
      
      
      
      Click OK, adjust your criteria accordingly, and click Create Custom Hierarchy again.
      
      Similarly, if your criteria do not yield any additional merchants, this message box opens:
      
      
      
      Click OK, adjust your criteria accordingly, and click Create Custom Hierarchy again.

      Providing you have entered sufficient criteria, the page refreshes to list the merchants meeting your criteria.

      

   3. Make sure the check box for each merchant you want to add to the custom hierarchy is selected.

      Tip: Click Toggle Checkboxes to clear or select the check boxes for all the merchants listed.

   4. Click Add to Custom Hierarchy.

   Change the merchants in the custom hierarchy

   1. In the Edit Custom Hierarchy panel, enter the appropriate criteria for the merchants you want in the hierarchy:
