RB 205/E05 - Device code must be alphanumeric or spaces

Device Code is a two-character, alphanumeric field designed for future use. Other values to indicate which device type generated batch transactions will be provided in the future.

This field cannot be blank
The field must contain ASCII zeros for device types F, H, J, and G

For this rejected batch, review the following table for possible cause and solution:

Possible Causes	Solution
Temporary communication problem.	Re-transmit the batch.
The device code is set incorrectly in the download file.	Correct the device code in the download file, perform a partial reprogramming to update the terminal, and re-transmit the batch.
The device code that is programmed in the terminal may be incorrect.	Correct the device code in the terminal and re-transmit.
