RB D18 - Invalid address verification result code

AVS Code is a one-character, alphanumeric field that must be set to zero for transactions that do not include an address verification result.

Possible Cause

Solution

A transaction has an incorrect or invalid Address Verification Result Code.

  1. Retain the batch.
  2. Delete (void) the transaction that caused the RB.
  3. Offline the corrected transaction and re-transmit.

If the Delete (void) feature is not available, delete the batch, offline the corrected transactions, and re-transmit.

VT1TPA5 user has just been downloaded and the first transaction was an offline (or credit).

  1. Retain the batch and void the transaction causing the RB (unless all transactions are offlines or credits--if that is the case, the entire batch must be deleted).
  2. Make sure a live transaction has been processed (check field 004- in CPS software 004 should have MMDDYYHHMMSS, i.e. date and time).
  3. After verifying a live transaction has been processed, or a live transaction is processed, offline the transaction back into the terminal and transmit again.

The system validates that the AVS code corresponds with the codes noted in the following table:
