RB D20 - Invalid transaction validation code

Transaction Validation Code is a four-character, alphanumeric field that is a fixed length and is returned in the authorization response. This field can contain all spaces if no transaction validation code is returned in the authorization response.

Note: The Transaction Validation Code field is mandatory for PS/2000 qualification.

This field is generated by the VIP system when the payment service indicator contains Y and passes edit requirements. This field is calculated by the VIP system and is used for Base II validation processes. The system validates the data element type of this field before passing it to Base II processing.

Possible Cause

Solution

A transaction has an incorrect or invalid validation code.

  1. Delete the transaction that caused the RB.
  2. Offline the corrected transaction and re-transmit.

If the Delete feature is not available, delete the batch, offline corrected transactions, and re-transmit.
