Purchase Identifier is a 25-character, alphanumeric field that is either not used or contains the reference number the merchant used to track the transaction. For fields less than 25 bytes in length, the data must be left-justified and space-filled. The system validates the data element type and length of this field.
Note: This field is required for direct marketing, hotel, and auto rental merchants to qualify for CPS.
