RB D34 - Check-in or rental date not in YYMMDD format or invalid

Check-in or Rental Date is a six-digit field indicating the date a customer checked into a hotel or first drove away a rental car. The date format is YYMMDD, where the entry must be numeric and valid.

Note: The check-in or rental date is required to qualify for VISA CPS/Hotel and Auto Rentals and AMEX cards.

For all no-shows, this field must contain the scheduled hotel arrival date or rental auto pick-up date.
For a VISA advanced or pre-pay deposit, this field must be zero-filled.
For AMEX cards, this field must be in a valid YYMMDD format if the Merchant/Charge Type field is set to 1.
The system validates that the Check-in or Rental Date corresponds to the following format:
- YY = year must be two digits for the current year
- MM = month must be two digits, 01-12
- DD = day must be two digits, 01-31

Possible Cause

Solution

A transaction has an incorrect or invalid check-in or rental date.

Delete the transaction that caused the RB.
Offline the corrected transaction and re-transmit.

If the Delete feature is not available, delete the batch, offline corrected transactions, and re-transmit.
