RB J50 - This code is a sequence error

Verify the sequence of records in a batch. The order of the records should be:

  1. header
  2. parameter
  3. detail
  4. trailer

The batch should contain at least one valid transaction that was not deleted or voided. The system rejects batches that do not conform to the order of records.

Possible Cause

Solution

No valid transactions
  1. Determine if the batch contains at least one valid transaction.
  2. If valid transaction is present, retain and re-transmit batch.
  3. If the batch contains only one transaction that is voided and has a zero total amount, delete the batch.

Unknown

Acquirers: If the sequence error persists, refer to Merchant Services.

Merchants: If the sequence error persists, escalate to research or a supervisor.
