Reset a User Password

When a user is locked out of CBOS, other users with the proper permissions can reset the password.

Note: A password can be re-used after it has been changed six times.

User passwords expire after 60 days.

A locked-out user account is not deleted from CBOS. A separate procedure is required to delete a user.

To reset a password:

  1. From the User Administration menu, select Update A User.

The Select a User page opens.

  2. Enter information for the user; a minimum of three characters in any of these fields.
  3. Select Search.

Search results are listed in the lower part of the page.

  4. From the list of results, select the User ID.

The Update a User - General Information page opens, showing the fields populated.

  5. Select Reset Password.

The Reset Password - Confirmation page opens, confirming the password is reset, and indicating the user will receive an email with the new password.

  6. Select Continue.
