The Exception Element Journal report lists a summary of the client's merchant exception tables (METs).
From the summary view, you can access the detail view for any entry in the MET # column.
The Exception Element Journal report includes the following data:
MET #
The four-character number of the merchant exception table.
MET Description
A description that the client uses to identify the table. The client will normally use this description to determine the type of merchants who use the table.
Date Last Maintained
The date that the most recent changes were made to the MET.
Status
This is the same as Edit Activity on the detail view.
The detail view of the report includes the following data:
Edit Activity
This describes whether edit activity takes place by deposit or by daily total.
Min Activity
The minimum dollar amount of activity for transactions to be considered for exceptions.
Date Last Maintained
The date that the most recent changes were made to the MET.
Status
This indicates whether merchants are currently assigned to this table or if it is used as an Association. Possible values are as follows:
- Used: The table is being used.
- Unused: The table is not being used.
MET Description
A description that the client uses to identify the table. The client will normally use this description to determine the type of merchants who use the table.
UNUSUAL ACTIVITY
This section contains the criteria for unusual activity selected by the client. Primary category selections include the following:
- Current to Fixed
- Current to Previous
- Current Day Deposit
Each category is followed by all of the options selected within that category. Each exception criterion in the journal is followed by the date that changes were last made (DLM) to that item.
DECREASING ACTIVITY
This section contains the criteria for decreasing activity selected by the client. Primary category selections include the following:
- Current to Fixed
- Current to Previous

INTERCHANGE QUALIFICATION
This section contains the choices the client has made for Interchange Qualification. Selection criteria include:
