Block a specific V Number

You might need to block a specific V number, for example, if its use is seasonal. A V number cannot be blocked if it is in a work in progress status.

Note: If a V number is left in a Blocked status for 350 consecutive days, the Close Profile option for that V number is then selected automatically. If that selection remains unchanged, the V number will then be purged from the system after 45 days.

1. Search for the merchant to display its details on the Merchant Summary page.
2. In the Merchant Terminals panel, in the V Number column, select the V number you want to block.

   

   The Terminal Setup page for that terminal opens.

   

3. Select the Edit button.
4. In the Terminal Status panel, select the Blocked check box.

   

   A message box opens asking you to confirm the inactivation.

5. Select OK.
6. In the To field, accept the default or enter the date until which the terminal is to be blocked, or select the calendar icon and then the date from the pop-up calendar.
7. In the Terminal Setup Details box, enter an explanatory comment, such as Blocking V number.
8. Select Board.
