   MCC Format Code

   This is an American Express code that identifies the type of MCC code. Possible values:

   • 10: Retail
   • 11: Lodging
   • 12: Restaurant
   • 20: Used when a merchant wants to process the American Express Corporate Purchasing Card. As most merchants want to be able to process any type of code, this value is frequently used.

   As the MCC Format Code is stored as part of the MCC Code, it appears on all transactions, but only American Express use it for processing, and only then when it is an American Express Direct purchase.
