Merchant boarding overview

Merchant boarding refers to the process by which all merchants are added and configured in the Express application. Full-service merchants, as members of the back-end hierarchy, inherit characteristics from the higher levels of the hierarchy. This includes banks, groups, and associations. Front-end only merchants, as members of the front-end hierarchy, inherit characteristics from BINs, agents, and chains. These inherited characteristics appear in Express as default values and enabled or disabled options.

After you complete the merchant boarding process, you can perform additional actions related to the merchant, such as edit the merchant record and report on the merchant's activity. You can also board terminals for the merchant.
