The terminal boarding process
The core terminal boarding process consists of the following steps in this sequence. You can configure the terminal beyond the steps listed below based on the terminal's hardware, software, and intended use, but any configuration in addition to that in the procedures listed below is optional.
- Set up a new terminal
- Configure merchant demographics
- Configure hardware and software options
- Configure printer and auto-close parameters
- Configure debit and/or EBT parameters
- Configure optional flags and settings
- Configure terminal profile information
- Select and configure card payment services
- Select and configure a host
- View a list of a store's terminals
- Pend a terminal
- Board a terminal
Smart navigation
Express uses expandable/collapsible frames to assist in navigation for this process:
- If no values apply, based on HWSW defaults, then the corresponding fields and frames will not be visible
- If values apply, based on the HWSW defaults, but not all values are populated, the frame will be visible and expanded
- If all fields are disabled, yet have already been defaulted, then the frame will be visible and appear collapsed. This collapsed frame may be expanded by the user at any time.
