RB 016 - Invalid Novus/Discover card number

Novus/Discover Card Number is a 16-digit field that is left-justified and space-filled. The system checks the data type and length of this field and validates the Novus/Discover card number on the card profile, based upon low and high account range and card type.

For this rejected batch, review the following table for possible cause and solution:

Solution

An incorrect Novus/Discover card number was entered.
  1. Delete (void) the transaction.
  2. Offline the corrected transaction into the terminal and re-transmit.

 

Note: If the software does not support the Delete or Void feature, delete the batch, offline all transactions correctly, and then re-transmit.
