RB B21/C21/G21/H21 - Invalid Transaction Validation Code

The Transaction Validation Code is a four-character alphanumeric field that is a fixed length and is returned in the authorization response. This field can contain all spaces if no Transaction Validation Code is returned in the authorization response. This field is generated by VIP system when Payment Service Indicator contains 'Y' and passes edit requirements. This field is calculated by VIP system and used for Base II validation process. Sierra validates the data element type of this field before passing this field to Base II processing.

Solution

A transaction has an incorrect or invalid Transaction Validation Code.

  1. Delete the transaction that invoked an RB.
  2. Offline the corrected transaction and re-transmit.

Note: If the delete feature is not available, delete the batch, offline corrected transactions, and re-transmit.
