RB D51 - Retrieval reference number incorrect

Retrieval Reference Number is a 12-character, alphanumeric field containing the retrieval reference number returned in the original authorization response record for the item to be canceled or reversed. The system validates the data element type and length of this field.

Possible Cause

Solution

A transaction has an incorrect or invalid retrieval reference number.
  1. Delete the transaction that caused the RB.
  2. Offline the corrected transaction and re-transmit.

If the Delete feature is not available, delete the batch, offline corrected transactions, and re-transmit.
