Field notes: C

Cable (Terminal Deployment page): Enter the quantity of cable that needs to be ordered for the merchant.

Calculate Check-In Amount: When selected, this check box enables the terminal to multiply the dollar amount entered in the Room Rate Amount field (in the Hotel and Lodging panel on the Terminal Details page) by the number of days in the customer's stay.

Canadian Unblocking Consent: The value Y or N in this field indicates indicates whether or not the BIN is participating in Canadian Debit Unblocking. This is a Visa Canada service whereby merchants can consent that Debit BINs are unblocked to allow Visa Debit Canadian domestic transactions.

Cancel/Return: Allows the merchant to perform credits on debit transactions.

Cancel Code: (AMEX Setup) The Cancelation code with which the account should be canceled.

Cancel Date: (AMEX Setup) Date indicating the Cancel date for the Maintenance account.

Cancel Flag: (AMEX Setup) Indicates whether the AMEX Setup record should be sent for Maintenance or Cancelation.

CAP Number: Chain Affiliate Property account number.

Capture Delay

Capture Track I Name: Enables the terminal to prompt for the cardholder's name if the terminal is unable to read the data from the cards magnetic stripe.

Card Association Name: The name of the bank card association whose interchange categories can be accessed.

Card Brand MCC Participation: Indicates whether the merchant is participating in the program to define card brand level MCCs.

Note: If this check box is selected, all information for the MCCs must be entered at the merchant and terminal level.

Card Capture Capability: Indicates whether the terminal captures the card. Possible values:

Card Data Output Capability: Indicates whether the terminal can output any card data.

Card Payment Service: The card payment service to which the Equinox card settings are applied.

Card Plans: The type of card plan.

Card Not Present Percentage: The average percentage of transactions processed without a card present.

Card Present: Enables Card Present prompts for manually-keyed transactions. The options that are available in this field vary according to your organization's business rules.

Card Processing: Identifies transaction types that terminal can process.  Leave at default.

Card Range Description:The name given to identify the card range.

Card Range Type: The record position occupied by the card range. Terminals support a finite number of card ranges, as determined by hardware and software settings.

Card Ranges Selected for Setup: A list of the card payment services that you selected from the Available Card Ranges list for configuration on a terminal.

Card Reader Test: Configures the terminal to require a password when this function is selected from the terminal.

Card Type: Determines the credit card account numbers that the terminal will recognize and identify for each card type. Default card ranges are as follows:

The application identifies any card number that falls within these predefined card ranges.

Card Types: Indicates the card types accepted by the merchant. Acceptable values include:

Cardholder Agreement: Indicates that the merchants Cardholder agreement is required or has been received before credit can be approved.

Cardholder Authentication Capability: Indicates how the cardholder was verified. Possible values:

Cardholder Detail: Indicates that cardholder details will be printed on the confirmation letter.

Cash Advance (check box): When selected, this check box enables the terminal to allow cash advances.

Cash Advance: Total number or dollar amount of gross outgoing cash advances and on-us cash advances. In profile build, if checked it means that the application setup for the terminal will be enabled to allow cash advances.

Cash Advance Address Verification: Requires address verification for cash advances originating from the terminal.

Cash Advance Processing: Enables cash advance processing for the terminal.

Cash Only Transaction: Enables the option to bypass the purchase amount prompt and process a cashback only transaction (EBT= Cash Benefits).

Cashback: Indicates that cashback transactions require a PIN.

Cashback Limit: Allows for an upper limit to be set for cashback on debit transactions. Enter a dollar amount in this field. The maximum value for this field is 99999, which is equivalent to $999.99 (a decimal is implied between 3rd and 4th digits). Cashback must be selected in the Cashback/Tip field of the ATM card range for this field to apply. If Cashback is selected and this field is left at the default value, a merchant can give any amount of cash back to customer.

Cashback/Tip: Selection indicates whether the terminal is allowed to perform cashback and/or tip at time of purchase.

Cashier Functions: The terminal will require a password when this function when this function is selected from the terminal.

CAT: See Category (CAT).

Category: The method the system uses to evaluate unusual merchant activity. One possible method, Current to Fixed, evaluates current merchant deposit values against fixed values to determine if unusual merchant activity is occurring. On the Pend Summary page, this is the category in which the pend reason falls.

Category (CAT): Petroleum/Cardholder Activated Terminal. Indicates that this merchant is eligible for this MasterCard interchange program.

Center Number: An account number assigned to the client. This is identical to Association Number 2.

Certification Date (Terminal VAR Details page): The certification date in mm/dd/yyyy format.

Certificate of Expertise: Indicates that the merchants certificate of expertise is required or has been received before credit can be approved.

Certification Status (Terminal VAR Details page): The certification status.

C/H Info Security Program: Indicates that the merchant is part of the Cardholder Information Security Program.

Chain: A six-digit number identifying a chain of locations or stores of a merchant. The client or agent bank assigns a chain. Chains are the third level of the front-end hierarchy. They contain merchants and roll up into agents. If the merchant does not process transactions using the chain level of the front-end hierarchy, this value may be 000000.

Chain Name: The name of a merchant's chain.

Chain Statement: Indicates that a chain summary statement is printed and mailed to one location for this association. The statement summarizes the activity for the entire association of chain merchants. Individual statements are also mailed to the merchants in the association.

Change Date From: The date value indicating the first date of records that should be retrieved for audit. This value can be no earlier than 180 days prior to the current date.

Change Date To: The date value indicating the last date for which records should be audited. Must be after Change Date From, and prior to the current date.  Changes made in the current day are not adaptable.

Charge Record: An entity that allows users to search for and find information regarding charges assessed to a particular merchant.

Charge Record Type: Provides the ability to find specific merchant information relating to a charge record.

Charge Seasonally: The default for this check box is not selected. If it is selected, the user must determine the frequency of the charges, using the Frequency field.

Change Status : The type of change being applied to the terminal. The selected change (activate or deactivate) is processed when the terminal record is submitted.

Charge Type: The type of charge being applied.

Chargeback Email Address: This field is only available if the bank is participating in the option for merchants to receive retrieval and chargeback activity by email. In edit mode, you can enter the merchant's email address for the chargeback activity, or select the Same as Merchant Email Address check box.

Chargeback Reversals: The transaction destination for chargeback reversals. Acceptable values for this field are M - Merchant DDA, A - Associations DDA, R - Roll up into one ACH entry, G - Group level, and X - No ACH funding.

Chargebacks: The transaction destination for chargebacks. Acceptable values for this field are M - Merchant DDA, A - Associations DDA, R - Roll up into one ACH entry, G - Group level, and X - No ACH funding.

Chgbk Reversals: Total number of 9077 sales, plus cash, plus credits or the total dollar amount of 9077 sales,  plus cash, plus credits.

Check Auth Disclosure: The text that prints on a check authorization disclaimer.

Check Authorization Key: Enables the terminal to require a password when this function is selected from the terminal.

Check Cashback Indicator: Enables the merchant to give cash back on a POS Check Service transaction. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Cashback Limit: Allows for an upper limit to be set for cashback on check transactions. The maximum value for this field is 99999, which is equivalent to $999.99 (a decimal is implied between 3rd and 4th digits). This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Conv. Type: See Check Conversion Type. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Conversion Set: Indicates which conversion range user selected on previous window. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Conversion Type: Indicates the type of POS Check transaction to be processed.  The authorization request is verified and converted differently based upon the dollar amount of the sale. Acceptable values for this field are: C - Conversion Only, V - Conversion with Verification, and G - Conversion with Guarantee. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Decline Disclosure: The text that prints on a POS Check denial disclaimer. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Expiration Date: When selected, this check box enables the terminal to verify a card’s expiration date prior to dialing out to the host.

Check Guarantee IIID/RIID: Check Guarantee Receiving Institution Identification value. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Print L2: Enables the terminal to print customer check information (the ID used to identify the consumer at the point of sale) on the merchant receipt. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Reader: Indicates the type of check reader in use. Possible values include: Checkmate, IVI, Magtek. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Reader Model: Indicates the type of Check Reader/Imager attached to the terminal when using the POS Check Service. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Service: An option that appears only when check service is available.  This field requires you to enter the applicable Certegy account number. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Service Code: Identifies the type of ID needed at the point of sale for Equinox terminals using check authorization services. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check Subscriber Number: The number that identifies the merchant for check authorizations in the Authorization and Capture system. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Check to Display: Allows customer-filtered options for drop-downs and list boxes. Selected rows indicate values that will be displayed.

Checkout: Enables the terminal to require a password when this function is selected from the terminal.

CheckSVS CSS: An equipment Code on the Merchant Leasing page.

City: The merchant's city. In the POS-Port profile build, it is the merchant's replacement shipment city. On the Merchant Sales Rep Details page, the city of the sales representative. On the Discover Setup page, the city in which the authorized Discover account signer lives.

City / State: The merchant's city and state. Can also be the Sim card contact's city and state.

Clear PC Upload Flag: The terminal will require a password when this function is accessed from the terminal.

Client Name: The name or identification of the client who is assigned to the sales representative.

Client Specific Field: Client Specific Fields (CSFs) enable you to customize the TSYS Express application to meet specific needs and provide additional reporting. These fields can be in both drop-down and free text formats, and you can customize both the field labeling and the content.

Close Profile: Deletes the file. The terminal will no longer be able to receive a download from MMS.

Close Tab With New Card: When selected, this check box allows the terminal to accept a different card to close an open tab.

Closed By: The name of the individual who closed the request.

Closed Date: The date on which the merchant was designated as closed.

Club: Indicates if the merchant is a club or discounted member.

Co-Signer: Indicates that a co-signer is required or has been received before credit can be approved.

Code: The two-digit request code that comprises an Inquiry Code.

Code 1-5: The no-post status codes.

COMM SMKT: A flag that Indicates if the merchant is participating in the MasterCard Commercial Supermarket program.

Combine: A code that indicates how the charge for this billing item is printed on the merchant statement. Enter an 'S' for separate or a 'C' for combined, which will combine fees with the same combine code into one line item on the merchants statement.

Comment: A free-text field that allows you to enter comments related to the merchant or terminal pend category and reason.

Comment (Terminal Deployment page): A free-text field that allows you to enter comments related to the order.

Comments: This is a free text field intended for use by the file builder. Comments that you enter on the first line print on the Daily Status and Request Reports.

Communication Parameters: The terminal will require a password when this function is selected from the terminal.

Company: The name of the company receiving POS-partner. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Company Name: The company name in a Parent/Child assignment. This is not currently supported by TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

Company Name (Terminal Setup page, VAR HWSW Information panel): The manufacturer's name of the POS device.

Comparison Selection: From the Bank Exception Table page, this is the list of available and existing comparisons that are associated with the currently selected Existing Category field.  Those comparisons listed in the Existing column currently have parameters associated with them.

Computer IC VERIFY: An equipment code on the Merchant Leasing page.

Computer MICROS S/W: An equipment code on the Merchant Leasing page.

Concatenated File Name: Indicates the name of the file that was sent to MAS.

Configuration: Indicates the terminal's configuration type.

Confirmation Letters: The manner and frequency with which a merchant will receive confirmation letters.

Connectivity Type (Terminal VAR Details page): The types of connectivity that can be enabled with this POS device.

Contact: A contact person affiliated with the merchant.

Contact Name: The merchant's contact name for replacement shipments.

Contact Phone: The contact person's phone number.

Contactless CVM Limit (Terminal VAR Details page): The CVM limit dollar amount for a contactless transaction. If the EMV contactless transaction is below this amount, the CVM can be ignored if the chip allows.

Contactless Floor Limit (Terminal VAR Details page): The contactless floor limit dollar amount. If the EMV contactless transaction is below this amount, it can be processed offline if the chip allows.

Contactless Transaction Limit (Terminal VAR Details page): The transaction limit dollar amount for a contactless transaction.

Control Record Status: Allows you to create groups. Each group must first be built as an association and then it can be classified as a group by selecting a 'G' in this field for group.

Conv Purch: Part of the new MasterCard Convenience Purchases - Tier 1 interchange rate by five new IRDs
Debit Valid Values:
N (stays as "N" and cannot be maintained)
Credit Valid Values:
N - No (default)
Y - Yes (can be maintained to Y)
If "Y", then MasterCard Assigned ID (MAID) should also be populated.

Copy An Existing Terminal?: Indicates that a new terminal will be configured by copying the configuration of an existing terminal. Enter the terminal to be copied in the Vital Service Number field.

Copy Card Plan: From the drop-down list, you can select one of the existing card plans already set up for the merchant to copy its details to your new card plan(s).

Copy Exception Table From: Allows you to input a four-digit table number. If that table number currently exists within the bank that you are currently pointed to, clicking the Copy button will create a new Exception Table that is an exact duplicate of the input table.

Copy from Existing: The table number of the variable rate table that the system copies to create a new table.

Copy from Existing Merchant: If you want to create a merchant record by copying the details of an existing merchant record, select this check box, and in the adjacent field, enter the valid, existing merchant number whose details you want to copy. After you enter the new Merchant Number for the merchant record you are creating and click in another field, the other fields will auto-populate with the details of the merchant you are copying. You can then edit those details for the new merchant as required.

Copy From: The existing billing element table or association rule table from which merchant-level parameters are being copied.

Copy from Primary Owner (Merchant Beneficial Owner page): Select this check box to populate the panel fields with information from the merchant's Primary Owner Information panel on the Merchant Parameters page.

Copy from Secondary Owner (Merchant Beneficial Owner page): Select this check box to populate the panel fields with information from the merchant's Secondary Owner Information panel on the Merchant Parameters page.

Copy from Number: The merchant number from which you want to copy information. The system will copy the information in entirety.

Copy Text From: The Bank Statement Message ID containing the text that you want to import into the new bank statement message.

Corporate Address (1-2): The merchant's corporate address.

Corporate City/State: The merchant's corporate city and state.

Corporate Country: The merchant's corporate country.

Corporate HQ Name: This field is only available if using the TSYS Batch Authorization System (BAS). It indicates the corporate headquarters account that has been enabled and certified to send BAS files to TSYS Acquiring Solutions for processing.

Corporate Name: The merchant's corporate name.

Corporate Postal Code: The merchant's corporate postal code.

Correct Signer: Indicates that the correct signer is required or has been received before credit can be approved.

Correspondence: Indicates that the associated address should be used for correspondence communication. If you select this option, you must enter values for the related address fields.

Counter Pay Tip: When selected, this check box configures the terminal to prompt for a tip after the transaction has been completed.

Country: The country in which the merchant is located. In this field, United States territories are treated as separate countries. On the Merchant Sales Rep Details page, the country of the sales representative.

Country Code: The country code corresponding to the merchant's location. In this field, United States territories have their own country codes.

Country Search: Allows you to enter up to ten countries regions to search for information on terminated merchants.

CPS: See Custom Payment Service.

Create New Table: Creates a new Billing Element table type in the 4-digit table number.

Creator: The User ID for the individual that created the pend record.

Creator, Date, Time: The user ID, date, and timestamp for user that created the pend or work in progress record.

Credit: Indicates that credit transactions require a PIN.

Credit ABA Number: The credit American Bankers Association number. This is the merchants routing number that directs electronic ACH deposits to the proper bank institution for AMEX credit.

Credit Amount: The maximum amount allowed per credit transaction. This must be a valid amount between 0 and 999999999.99.

Credit Bureau: The credit bureau through which the credit report was obtained.

Credit DDA Number: The merchants Demand Deposit Account number (checking account) for AMEX credit.

Credit DDA Verification: Indicates that a merchant's DDA is required to be verified or receipt of verification has been performed before credit can be approved.

Credit Key: The terminal will require a password whenever this key is selected from the terminal.

Credit Received: The date the merchant's application was received by the Credit department.

Credit Review Other: Indicates that miscellaneous credit verification items have been requested or have been received before credit can be approved.

Credit Specialist: The initials of the specialist who reviewed the file for credit approval.

Credit Status: Indicates the stage of the application review.

Credit Validation: This is part of the Credits Without Offsetting Sales program. It enables the merchant to choose how to utilize the new risk option. This field is maintainable if V-option VMM91B0041 is on. Valid values include:

Credit Tier: Indicates that the Visa or MasterCard program shown applies to the credit tier. See Configure merchant account settings.

Currencies (Terminal VAR Details page): The types of currency the POS device supports.

Currency: See Currency Code.

Currency Code: Indicates the currency country code for the monetary amounts displayed on the page.

Current Batch Number: Indicates the current batch number in the terminal after a download.

Current DRT/VRT: The Discount Rate Table or Variable Rate Table that is currently being applied to the merchant account.

Currently Active: Indicates if the BIN is currently using the processing cycle.

Custom Label Indicator: When selected, this check box enables the printing of the custom label text (as entered in the Custom Label Text field in the Advanced Terminal Settings panel on the Terminal Details page) on the receipt.

Custom Label Text: If the Custom Label Indicator check box (on the Advanced Terminal Settings panel on the Terminal Details page) is selected, the text entered in this field will be printed on the receipt.

Custom Label Text: The customized text to be printed on a receipt.

Custom Payment Service: Indicates that the merchant is eligible for this program.

Customer Service: The customer service phone number.

Customer Service Email Address: The merchant’s email address where customer service communications should be directed.

Customer Service Phone: The phone number (xxx-xxx-xxxx format) that will print on a customer's monthly statement when the merchant performs a mail or phone order transaction. On the Merchant Interchange page, the value of this field will print on the customer's receipt.

Customer Service Phone Number: The full telephone number that should be used to contact the merchant for customer service related communications. This may or may not be the same as the Business Phone number.

CWOS Threshold (BIN Setup page): A value in this field indicates that the BIN is participating in Credit Without Offsetting Sale Threshold (CWOS), and the dollar value at which the threshold is set for the BIN.

CWOS is a component of TSYS Risk Detector that allows clients to reject credits that exceed a threshold for an offsetting sale.

Possible values for this field are:

CWOS Threshold (Merchant Parameters page): A value in this field indicates that the merchant is participating in Credit Without Offsetting Sale Threshold (CWOS), and the dollar value for the merchant that will override the CWOS Threshold set for the associated BIN on the BIN Setup page.

CWOS is a component of TSYS Risk Detector that allows clients to reject credits that exceed a threshold for an offsetting sale.

Note: You can only enter a CWOS Threshold value for a merchant if its associated BIN has a CWOS Threshold value set on the BIN Setup page

CWOS is a component of TSYS Risk Detector that allows clients to reject credits that exceed a threshold for an offsetting sale.

Possible values for this field are:

Cycle Code: The code that represents the processing cycle time.

Cycle Dates: Determines the dates of the cycles during the year (for use with cycled statement generation only).
