American Express (AMEX) requires service providers to accommodate the chaining of multiple merchant locations owned by the same company under one service agent Chain Affiliated Property (CAP) number.
Express provides automated functionality to obtain an AMEX Franchise CAP number for a merchant that would be considered the head quarter location for a chain. Once you receive the Franchise CAP number from AMEX for that merchant, you can then assign it to other merchants in the chain as you set them up for AMEX.
Note: You cannot assign an AMEX Franchise CAP number to a merchant if it already has an AMEX SE number assigned to it.
