Assign an existing AMEX Franchise Cap number to a merchant

Note: You cannot assign an AMEX Franchise CAP number to a merchant if it already has an AMEX SE number assigned to it.

Once you have obtained an AMEX Franchise CAP number for a merchant that would be considered the head quarter location for a chain, you can then assign it to other merchants in the chain as you set them up for AMEX.

To assign an existing AMEX Franchise Cap number to a merchant:

1. Search for the merchant, and then from the Merchant menu, click Product Setup.

   The Merchant Product Setup screen for that merchant opens.

2. In the AMEX panel, click the AMEX Setup button.

   The AMEX Setup (1) screen for the merchant opens.

3. At the bottom of the screen, click the Next button.

   The AMEX Setup (2) screen for the merchant opens.

4. In the Enter Franchise CAP Number Request field, enter the AMEX CAP number, or click the adjacent franchise CAP Lookup button to open the Franchise CAP Number Listing box, select the option button for the relevant Franchise Cap#, and then click the submit selection button.

   The Franchise CAP Number Listing box closes and the AMEX CAP number you selected appears in the Enter Franchise CAP Number Request field.

5. Click the Submit to Vendor button to apply for the AMEX SE number.
